(that's a really big fish!).
He currently works as an art director at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, where he has overseen the visual direction of several high profile and pivotal projects at Lincoln. One such project was the art direction for the newly launched Lincoln Art Exchange, which has been featured in several news and media segments.
His responsibilities at Lincoln include overseeing the whole life cycle of several simultaneous projects, working directly with external printers to produce both high quality digital and offset printed collateral, developing visual content for network wide email blasts, as well as utilizing the Teamsite content management system to develop and update web pages for Lincoln Medical Center on the NYC.gov website. He enjoys creating both printed collateral as well as digital components within the digital experience.
He desires to bring a human face to the projects he designs by highlighting the personal side of the people in the projects in order to show who they are and maximize their connection with the viewer. Douglass' design work has a clean and finely polished style with a dash of humor thrown in. Through his creative design process, he discovers multiple solutions which convey a messages' core values through visual elements. Having worked in the high pressure financial industry, Douglass knows how to keep his cool when the deadline is tight and the pressure is on.
He is currently brushing up on what’s new in HTML 5 and CSS3. He is skilled at using Adobe’s Creative Suite up from CS3 and is currently enjoying CS6.
He has a Masters of Science in Communication Design from Pratt Institute where he concentrated on print and identity design to fully develop his creative process and design thinking. He also has a BFA in Photography with a minor in Philosophy from Adelphi University which he utilized to run his own medium format film-based headshot business and darkroom.
Between getting his degrees, Douglass found time for 13 years of experience designing presentations, including 2 years as assistant graphic designer at Merrill Lynch, 3 years managing ABN AMRO Rothschild's presentation and graphics department, and more than a decade designing presentations and creating graphic art for presentations. He has consistent and proven abilities to creatively design graphic solutions, delivering jobs accurately, on time, on budget and with alacrity.
When Douglass is not out designing, photographing, making time lapse videos or just being creative in general, then he's home cooking something delicious, healthy and just as creative. His current passion in the kitchen is being a beer homebrewer.
